Arsene Wenger is reportedly prepared to offer Olympique Lyonnais’ Alexandre Lacazette £200k-per-week to join Arsenal this summer.

  • Arsenal are targeting Lacazette and not Mbappe
  • The Lyon striker has said he’ll join team not in the Champions League
  • Arsenal are prepared to pay big wages to lure players to the club

According to The Sun, Arsenal have accepted that they’ll need to pay huge wages to attract players to the Emirates Stadium this summer and will give Olympique Lyonnais striker Alexandre Lacazette a deal worth more than £10m-a-year.

French international Lacazette is said to be the Gunners main target after their attempts to sign Kylian Mbappe from AS Monaco failed. Arsene Wenger and Ivan Gazidis were pictured in Nice last week, resulting in speculation that they could be there to negotiate a deal for Mbappe.

However, The Sun believes that they were actually there to meet with Lyon president Jean-Michael Aulas to discuss a move for Lacazette. The Lyon striker had been set to join Atletico Madrid, however the Spanish club’s transfer ban has thrown the move in doubt.

And with Arsenal having lucrative funds to strengthen the squad – evident from the reported £96m bid for Mbappe – they should be able to meet any demands for Lacazette.
