Two Arsenal players featured in the semi-finals of the U21 European Championships on Tuesday, as England bowed out but Spain reached the final.

Calum Chambers played for England’s U21s against Germany’s on Tuesday night.

The match ended 2-2 over 90 minutes with goals from RB Leipzig’s Davie Selke, who put Germany 1-0 ahead in the 35th minute, before Leicester’s Demarai Gray put the Young Lions back on level terms.

Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham then put England 2-1 ahead before Germany came back via Felix Platte, who plays for Darmstadt 98.

Germany went on to win 4-3 on penalties (surprise, surprise) and go through to the final.

Rob Holding was once again an unused sub, while former Gunner, Serge Gnabry, played 86 minutes for his country.

In the other semi-final, Hector Bellerin played a full match for Spain’s U21s, who beat Italy’s 3-1 with a hat-trick from Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez.

The final between Spain and Germany will take place on June 30.
