Tottenham are believed to be making the first moves to land Monaco right-back Djibril Sidibe.

  • Sidibe was close to joining Arsenal before he moved to Monaco
  • Arsenal have been linked with the right back once again
  • Spurs could sign him as a replacement for Kyle Walker

The Monaco full-back was reportedly close to joining Arsenal before Monaco came in with a late bid and signed him last summer.

Since then, Sidibe’s enjoyed an excellent season, winning the Ligue 1 title and becoming a regular in the France national team. Unsurprisingly, he has been linked with several clubs, including Arsenal again.

Right-back isn’t a position Arsenal looking to strengthen currently, with most of their attenton being on attackers. This has opened the door for Spurs, who could sign Sidibe as a replacement for Kyle Walker, should the English leave for Manchester City.

Sidibe is just one of three Monaco players that Arsenal interested this summer. However, it’s unlikely Arsenal will go for him at this stage unless they lose Hector Bellerin.
