Russian journalist Ilya Kazakov has claimed that Arsenal will be signing Aleksandr Golovin.

  • Russian reports claimed Golovin would join Arsenal for £10m
  • Arsenal’s Eastern Europe scout said the player wasn’t ready for a move
  • Kazakov says Golovin will sign for Arsenal and then be loaned back to CSKA

Kazakov is believed to be a reputable journalist in Russia, and he’s said the deal will be happening.

Russia outlet Sport claimed last week that Arsenal had agreed a £10m fee to sign the midfielder from CSKA Moscow.

There was some doubt over the transfer after Arsenal’s Eastern Europe scout, Pavel Kucherov, claimed Golovin wasn’t ready for a move to Arsenal.

“This player is not talented enough for European level and it’s unrealistic to discuss his transfer to a top EPL club,” he said.

“Alexander would need to improve his football in general, as well as his physical, psychological and mental attributes.”

It seems now that Golovin will be joining Arsenal this summer, but will return to CSKA Moscow on loan for next season.

The 21-year-old Russian is highly thought of in his home country. He can play as an attacking-midfielder and central-midfielder.
