According to a recent report in France, Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain cannot afford to match Alexis Sánchez’s high wage demands.

Alexis, 28, has been on PSG’s radar for the past few seasons and could’ve joined them instead of the Gunners in the summer of 2014.

Thankfully though, he opted for a move to England’s top flight and hasn’t looked back since.

With twelve months remaining on his contract, Unai Emery’s side were reportedly keen to see if they could sign him for a cut-price fee and take advantage of his current contract situation to persuade Arsenal to sell.

However, it’s highly unlikely that he’d accept a pay cut to move to France, despite being previously tipped to help fill Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s boots at the Parc des Princes.

His wage demands have also increased, according to the same report. €320,000-a-week, is equivalent to around £280k and questions have been asked as to whether Arsenal will finally get him and Mesut Ozil to extend their current deals with the club.

Either way, Arsene Wenger says they won’t be sold this summer.

PSG are now said to be focusing their energies on tempting prolific forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang back to France.

Although no official bid has been made to Bundesliga side, Borussia Dortmund, PSG are said to be preparing a £61m move for the Gabonese striker to lessen the goalscoring load on Edinson Cavani next season and beyond.
