Real Madrid have made Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski a transfer target should Karim Benzema leave in the summer.

  • Benzema is once again being linked with a move away from Madrid
  • Madrid have Bayern’s Lewandowski on shortlist of potential replacements
  • Moves could have impact on Arsenal’s transfer business

Don Balon claim that there is uncertainty surrounding the future of Karim Benzema and there is no guarantee the Frenchman will still be at Madrid next season.

Benzema has been perpetually linked with a move to Arsenal and it’s believed they would be at the front of the cue should he decide to leave.

The 29-year-old made 30 La Liga appearances for Los Blancos this season, scoring 11 goals and making five assists. He’s been short of goals but brings a lot to the side holding up the ball and bringing the likes of Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo to the attack.

But should he leave, Real Madrid reportedly have a short-list of targets, including Juventus’ Paulo Dybala, Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski.

This could have an effect on Arsenal’s business. They’ve also been linked with Aubameyang, and Bayern losing Lewandowski may give them added impetus to sign Alexis Sanchez. It could also mean that Madrid could pull out of signing Mbappe, increasing Arsenal’s chances of signing the 18-year-old.
