Real Madrid are confident of signing of Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe, despite competition from up to five other clubs in Europe.

  • Real Madrid want to buy Mbappe this summer and loan him back to Monaco
  • They’re confident Mbappe will reject all other offers
  • Arsenal, amongst others, are interested in the 18-year-old

According to Spanish paper AS, Real Madrid believe that Mbappe will pick them over every other interested team this summer, reports the Daily Mail.

This is just the first step to their plan as they want to loan Mbappe back to Monaco for the season so he can continue to play regularly while Madrid make room in their squad.

Buying a player for over £100m only to loan him back to the selling club is completely unheard of, but it’s the sort of audacity you’d expect from Madrid.

Mbappe has no shortage of suitors this summer, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and PSG all expressing an interest.

Arsenal are believed to have made a bid but may struggle to compete with Real Madrid. Mbappe is unlikely to choose a side outside of the Champions League next season
