With Kurt Zouma reportedly surplus to requirements at Chelsea, could Arsenal be set to renew their interest in the six-foot-three centre-back?

  • Chelsea reportedly keen to get rid of Zouma after long injury layoff
  • Arsenal linked with centre-back in 2013 before Chelsea move
  • Nice and Lyon both interested in 22-year-old

Arsenal were linked with Zouma back in 2013 when he played for Ligue 1 side, Saint-Étienne. However, the £12m defender signed for Chelsea in January 2014 before being loaned by to his former side for the remainder of the season.

The 22-year-old went on to make 71 appearances over all competitions for the Blues before suffering a cruciate ligament injury November 2016, which kept him sidelined for 286 days.

He had been out with another knee injury for 52 days the previous season, and picking up another serious injury at his age was a massive blow.

Although Zouma’s now returned from his lengthy layoff, Antonio Conte is reportedly looking to offload him, which means that it’s only a matter of time before Arsenal once again get linked.

The France international is currently being linked with a move to either Nice or Lyon.

He has two years left on his contract with Chelsea.
