Kylian Mbappe reportedly ‘only has eyes’ for Real Madrid, and Arsenal have therefore supposedly admitted defeat in the race to sign the 18-year-old Monaco striker.

  • Mbappe happy to stay at Monaco – Real only club that could turn his head
  • Arsenal admit defeat, Liverpool interested
  • Gunners previously said to be willing to pay up to £122m

Arsenal have reportedly been ‘dealt a blow’ in their pursuit of Monaco’s Mbappe, as the France international apparently only has eyes for Real Madrid.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with the highly-rated teenager after he had a phenomenal season with Monaco, scoring 15 Ligue 1 goals and assisting 11. However, according to Marca [via Mirror], Real, who have also been said to have a strong interest in Mbappe, are the only team the striker would move to this summer.

story trackerArsenal have allegedly made offers ranging from £87m to £122m, which would be over double what they’ve paid for their most expensive player, Mesut Ozil (£42.5m).

With Los Blancos re-electing president Florentino Perez, who’s renowned for making massive signings a.k.a. Galácticos, and Cristiano Ronaldo potentially leaving after being accusing of tax fraud, Mbappe’s dream move to Real could be on the cards.

However, he could just as easily stay at Monaco, given that he’s happy there.
