Manchester United are interested in signing Radja Nainggolan from Roma, a player who revealed Arsenal previously tried to bring to England.

  • United have watched Nainggolan several times.
  • The midfielder admitted there was interest from Arsenal last season

The Belgian has impressed for Roma since joining from Cagliari and has attracted interest from several top clubs around Europe. In an interview with Wojciech Szczesny, who spent the last two years on loan at Roma, Nainggolan admitted Arsenal were keen on him.

When asked about interest from other clubs and his decision to stay, he said: “It was a choice of life. I like the lifestyle over here. There was Arsenal, but how you talk always about them maybe I should have joined them,” reports the Express.

Now, according to Il Tempo, Manchester United are interested in bringing Nainggolan to Old Trafford. Jose Mourinho is looking to strengthen his team’s midfield ahead of a season in the Champions League.

However, by the sounds of things, Nainggolan is very comfortable at Roma and isn’t looking to leave, nor are Roma interested in selling. It’d be a shame for Arsenal as well as United, as Nainggolan would be the perfect midfield partner for Granit Xhaka.
