Manchester United have reportedly made a £62m bid for rumoured Arsenal target, Andrea Belotti.

  • Belotti has scored four goals in nine caps for Italy; scored 26 Serie A goals last season
  • Arsenal, Milan, PSG and Chelsea all previously linked
  • United’s past advances rebuffed
  • Red Devils make £62m swoop –  Belotti’s buy-out clause is £84m

United have reportedly made a £62m bid for Torino striker Belotti after previous advances were rejected by the Serie A side, according to Italian outlet, Tuttosport [via Sky Sports].

This is far lower than his buy-out clause, which Torino president, Urbano Cairo, previously claimed was £84m.

The 23-year-old goal machine has been linked with Arsenal, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain already this summer. However, Torino are keen to keep hold of the Italy international.

“With Belotti we’re tied to him until 2021,” Cairo recently told Tuttomercatoweb [via Independent].

“Then clearly it’s very important that he remains happy as I hope he is.

“There’s been no contact with Milan, nor Paris Saint-Germain, these are more journalistic stories.”

Cairo previously insisted that Torino won’t sell Belotti for anything under his £84m (€100m) release clause, saying, “It is important to understand what he wants to do, regardless of the buyout clause,” Cairo said. In my opinion, he wants to continue to play for Torino. He will busy with the national team and his wedding is on Thursday and I am invited.

“I want to keep him because he has a contract until 2021. Only for €100m will I sell him for, but he always the right to refuse to move.”

Belotti has scored 40 goals in 74 appearances for Torino since signing from fellow Italian side, Palermo, just two years ago.

Last season alone, the talented young striker netted a whopping 28 goals in 38 appearances.

Belotti has four years left on his current deal with Torino.
