Manchester United legend, Bryan Robson, has urged manager José Mourinho to make an ambitious offer for Alexis Sánchez this summer, though a move is not likely to happen.

Former midfielder Robson, 60, made over 400 club appearances for United during his 13-year spell there from the early 1980s. Now the club’s official ambassador, he was recently quizzed about a number of topics including who they should target as players who will strengthen the squad.

United’s interest in Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann seems to have cooled somewhat, with the 26-year-old hinting that he’ll stay in Spain after all.

As a result, the club are still on the lookout for a world-class goalscorer and Alexis fits the bill. Álvaro Morata could be on his way to AC Milan whilst Romelu Lukaku’s future is still uncertain, so it makes sense that they’d try and unsettle the talented Chilean, especially with only twelve months remaining on his existing contract.

His character is right, he is a tough player, really skillful and he works really hard. He can score and create goals,” Robson was quoted as saying.

When you put that package together, he is the type we would like here. Whether we can achieve that or Mourinho thinks the same… people always have different opinions on players. Remember he has played at a club like Arsenal, where you’ve got to be able to handle pressure.”

Wenger has already stressed on multiple occasions the fact that Alexis will not be sold to a rival club and actually, is staying regardless of whether they manage to negotiate over a new deal for the talented 28-year-old in the coming months or not.
