Alexis Sanchez is expected to be a part of Pep Guardiola’s spending spree.

  • Alexis is a top target for Guardiola
  • The Chilean’s contract has just a year left to run
  • Arsenal have no intention of selling to a rival

Manchester City have been heavily linked Alexis Sanchez this summer and are increasingly confident of signing him.

Bayern Munich have also been linked with Alexis but could be put off by his wage demands, something City have no problem matching given the money Guardiola has at his disposal.

Arsenal and Alexis have been locked in a contract stalemate, with the Chilean reportedly demanding £350k p/w to stay at the club. If Arsenal are forced to sell the player, they will want to sell him abroad, rather than strenghten a Premier League title-rival for next season.

Wenger has said that he’d be willing to let Alexis’ contract run down if it meant keeping the player at the club next season. He’ll certainly not want to sell him to Manchester City or Chelsea if he can help it.

But should the player run down his deal at Arsenal, the club will be powerless to stop him in the summer of 2018.
