Lyon president, Jean-Michel Aulas, has confirmed that Arsenal have put in a ‘very nice offer’ for Alexandre Lacazette after the club told the player he could leave only to now say that he won’t be going anywhere.

UPDATE – Aulas has now denied saying this

If that opening confused you, you are not alone.  Aulas has form with this sort of stuff, contradicting himself from one minute to the next.

Speaking to the press on Friday morning, he told assembled reporters, “Lacazette was told he could leave. We now have a very nice offer from Arsenal. But for us he will not leave.”

In other words, ‘we want more money from Arsenal…’

Looks like this saga won’t be ending any time soon. And to think, the transfer window hasn’t even opened yet.
