A close associate of Kylian Mbappe says the coveted striker would sign for Arsenal if he had to leave Monaco tomorrow, with manager Arsene Wenger famed for his development of French players.

As reported in Le Parisien via Le 10 Sport, the person is quoted as saying: “ Wenger is a great. If Kylian signs (for) Arsenal tomorrow, it will be for him. He knows how to (mould) young (players) and especially the former strikers of the French team, Thierry Henry and Nicolas Anelka. The Europa League is not an obstacle.”

It’s good news for Arsenal in their pursuit to sign the AS Monaco striker who last season scored 15 goals in 17 Ligue 1 starts, leading the French giants to the domestic title and the semi-finals of the Champions League. The 18-year-old has been linked with Real Madrid and Liverpool this summer and will reportedly cost around £90m to sign.

Mbappe is clearly thinking about his career before the financial benefits of a move, as he’s considering joining a side currently at a low ebb because he trusts the manager to develop him into a great like Arsenal strikers of the past.
