While Juventus have allegedly offered Wojciech Szczesny a €4m-per-year four-year deal, they’ve informed him that he’ll also have to sit on the bench for a year before becoming number one.

Juventus were recently reported to be looking for a replacement for 39-year-old Gigi Buffon. However, the goalkeeper has a year left on his current deal with the Serie A giants.

Therefore, while Woj could receive an annual salary of €4m, he’d reportedly have to wait on the bench for the entire season leading up to the 2018 World Cup in Russia, which isn’t likely considering not being number one at Arsenal is reportedly the reason he’s looking elsewhere.

Woj has struggled to get game time for Poland over former Gunner and current Swansea ‘keeper Łukasz Fabiański and considering he’ll be 28, you can imagine that he wants to do everything in his power to get noticed.

Although the 27-year-old appeared likely to return to north London after his two years on loan at Roma, it now seems probable that he’ll remain in Italy and sign a permanent deal.

Napoli have been linked as they’re looking for a replacement for the ageing Pepe Reina and Woj obviously likes the country.

West Ham, however, are also said to be interested in signing the Poland international.
