Olivier Giroud would reportedly be interested in joining Turkish champions Besiktas this summer, with Champions League football a deciding factor should he leave Arsenal.

  • Giroud has allegedly told Besiktas he would join them
  • He wants Champions League football next season
  • He’s also been linked with West Ham, Lyon and Marseille

Giroud could be leaving Arsenal this summer if he’s not assured of more first team opportunities next season. West Ham had been touted as a destination, but Turkish Football now report that Besiktas are a serious option.

The claims come from Haberturk reporter Kartal Yigit, who says that Besiktas have made an offer and that Giroud would be interested in joining them. It’s believed the Frenchman would prefer to join a team in the Champions League should he leave Arsenal this summer.

French Ligue 1 duo Lyon and Marseille are also interested, and there have been reports that Giroud could be involved in a potential swap deal for Alexandre Lacazette.

Arsene Wenger has publicly backed the player and wants to keep him, however, saying: “(Giroud) has qualities that our team need.”
