Fulham have reportedly made a bid for former Arsenal and Benfica forward, Rui Fonte.

  • Fonte played seven minutes for Arsenal’s first team during his time in north London
  • Forward impressed during first season at Braga and scored 15 goals
  • Has three years left on deal after signing for Braga last year
  • Fulham have made offer for 27-year-old

Fonte, who was at Arsenal from 2006 – 2011 with a loan spell at Crystal Palace in the middle, impressed at Braga last season, scoring 15 goals over all, 11 of which were just in Liga NOS alone.

Despite the 27-year-old having two years left on his current deal in Portugal after signing for Braga from Benfica last year, Fulham have reportedly made an offer to bring him Fonte back to London.

Fonte featured 22 times for Portugal’s u21s when he was younger, scoring eight goals.

He only ever played seven minutes for Arsenal’s first team. However, he had more successful spells at Sporting, and Espanyol later on.

Rui is the younger brother of West Ham’s Jose Fonte.
