Everton are said to be closing in on Arsenal-linked Davy Klaassen.

  • Everton are favourites to sign the Ajax midfielder
  • Ajax have told Arsenal and other clubs that he’ll cost £20m

Klaassen has been watched by Arsenal for years, as per talkSPORT, but it appears that it’ll be Everton who’ll secure his signing this summer.

According to the Express, Klaassen is a top priority for Ronald Koeman this summer as he looks to replace Ross Barkley.

Ajax have reportedly placed a £20m asking price on the Dutchman and are under no pressure to sell.

Klaassen has been dubbed the “new Bergkamp” and enjoyed a prolific season with Ajax, racking up 20 goals and 12 assists from attacking midfield.

The 24-year-old has been on the radar of several top clubs, including Arsenal, Manchester United and Napoli.

Arsenal appear to be in the market for a midfielder, with stories linking them with moves for Nice’s Jean-Michael Seri and CSKA Moscow’s Aleksandr Golovin.

However, it seems that Klasseen is one potential target that Arsenal will miss out on.
