Chelsea’s Eden Hazard will be out for three months following ankle surgery.

  • Hazard will miss the Community Shield and early league game against Arsenal
  • He’ll also be out for Chelsea’s games against Spurs and City

Hazard suffered a fractured ankle while he was away with Belgium and is now set to miss the start of the season.

This means the attacker will miss Chelsea’s Community Shield match against Arsenal in August and the meeting at Stamford Bridge in September.

This is good news for Arsenal as Hazard has developed a habit of creating big moments against them with his dribbling.

He scored a remarkable solo goal when the two sides met at Stamford Bridge last season.

Hazard’s injury also means he will miss Chelsea’s games against Tottenham and Manchester City.

While you’d expect Chelsea to have the strength-in-depth to cope without him, being without one of their best players for such big games is a massive blow and could have early implications in the title race.
