Serge Gnabry could make a surprise return to Arsenal after deciding to leave Werder Bremen.

That’s according to the Daily Star, who say that Arsenal would be keen on welcoming the German back to the club despite selling him last summer.

Gnabry has activated a clause in his contract that would enable him to leave Werder Bremen and join a club higher up the table. Hoffenheim, RB Lepizig and Bayern Munich (no shock there) are all interested.

He had a horrible loan spell at West Brom before Arsenal agreed to sell him to Werder Bremen last summer.

Since then, the 21-year-old has thrived with more first team football and scored 11 goals in the league, as well as winning his first senior cap for Germany.

With the player wanting to leave due to a lack of first team football, it’s unlikely he’ll want to come back without assurances from Arsene Wenger.
