Arsenal may still have a chance to sign Matic following reports that Chelsea won’t allow the Serb to leave until they’ve completed the signing of Tiemoue Bakayoko.

  • Matic could be joining Manchester United in a £40m deal
  • Chelsea want to complete the signing of Bakayoko first
  • There’s time for Arsenal to hijack Matic deal

According to reports, Matic is close to a move to Manchester United in a £40m deal. However, Chelsea will reportedly not sanction the move until they’ve completed the signing of Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco.

This could allow Arsenal to swoop in and hijack the Matic deal. Matic has been linked with Arsenal in the past, and is regarded as the type of midfielder Arsenal need. Chelsea seem open to selling to a Premier League club as well.

There’s a very slim possibility of it happening, with Matic seemingly determined to reunite with his old manager, Jose Mourinho. Meanwhile, Arsenal will be looking at younger, more realistic targets to strengthen their midfield this summer.
