Braga have rejected an Arsenal bid for 17-year-old winger Pedro Neto and are holding out for an improved bid to match his reported release clause.

  • Arsenal believed to have bid £13m
  • Braga want full £17.5m release clause
  • Barcelona are also interested in Neto

Neto is an exciting young talent in Portugal and became the youngest player to score in first division on the penultimate match day last season.

According to A Bola, Arsenal have had a £13m offer for the youngster rejected.

Braga are hoping to get the full £17.5m release clause for a player that’s also attracting interest from Barcelona.

It seems like Arsenal and Braga aren’t too far apart and could quite easily reach a compromise. An improved bid should follow in the coming days, but should they wait too long other interested sides might match his release clause and agree terms ahead of the Gunners.

The price would suggest there’s something about this teenager. It’s been a while since Arsenal signed a genuinely exciting young talent, but clearly Neto is worth pursuing given the price they and other clubs are reportedly willing to pay.
