Lyon midfielder Corentin Tolisso has attracted interest from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich as well as Arsenal, according to recent reports.

The 22-year-old French international excelled last season with Ligue 1 side Lyon, and consistent performances have sparked speculation about his future, reports Bild. Arsenal and Chelsea have been recently linked, whilst Serie A champions Juventus have reportedly been priced out of a move as Lyon decided to increase their asking price.

With 14 goals and seven assists from a predominantly central role in midfield, it’s clear to see that Tolisso is a key asset and one Lyon are reluctant to let leave. Bayern see him as a replacement for Xabi Alonso, who retired at the end of last season.

Tolisso made 47 appearances across all competitions last term and made his international debut during Les Blues’ 2-0 defeat to Spain. Lyon president Jean-Michael Aulas has already received a phone call from Bayern about Tolisso’s availability, according to sources earlier this week.

The big question is whether Bayern are prepared to pay as much for Tolisso as they did for highly-rated midfielder Renato Sanches last summer, considering his well-documented shortcomings in Bavaria over the last twelve months.

It’s likely they could have a tug-of-war with the Premier League sides for his signature, especially given his recent comments about how a move to England does interest him.
