Arsenal U14s lifted the Albert Phelan Cup earlier this month, having convincingly beaten West Bromwich Albion 6-2 in the final.

Tyreece Briscoe and Luke Plange both netted two goals each, whilst Zane Monlouis and Mazeed Ogungbo were also on the scoresheet, reports Arsenal’s official website.

Arsenal were in a group alongside Brighton and Hove Albion, Reading and West Ham, managing to progress unscathed. A 3-0 win over Chelsea in the last-eight saw a regional semi-final clash against Norwich, resulting in an emphatic 5-1 victory for the Gunners.

Fulham proved a tricky test in the regional final and took the U14s to extra-time. However, Arsenal prevailed 4-2aet, sealing their place in the national final against West Brom.

And despite the Baggies impressively dispatching of Liverpool and Manchester City to earn their place in the final, Arsenal simply had too much quality on the day and ran out comfortable winners.

This triumph caps an encouraging year of youth development across all age-groups.

The U18s finished second behind a dominant Chelsea in both the regular Premier League season and Merit Group Tier One table, while the U23s recovered from a poor start in the Premier League 2, finishing fourth last season.
