Arsenal are reportedly still keen on OGC Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri, despite the 25-year-old having previously looked set for a move to AS Roma this summer.

Arsenal have been seeking midfield replacements ahead of the new season as a result of the potential departures of Francis Coquelin and Mohamed Elneny, while Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla are expected to be injured for the start of the 2017/18 campaign.

Seri, who scored and created 16 goals in 34 appearances for Nice last season, has been linked with Arsenal and Roma in recent weeks, the latter of whom were believed to have won the race for his signature. However, their failure to match the reported £40m release clause now gives Arsenal a chance to renew their interest.

Since signing Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac, however, Arsenal haven’t made another notable move in the summer transfer market. The Gunners are believed to be waiting on the decisions of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez before they spend more money on additions so they could lose out on Seri.
