According to well-known French outlet, L’Equipe, Arsenal are willing to bid €100m on Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe.

  • Real Madrid is Mbappe’s ‘dream club’
  • Mbappe scored 26 goals in 44 appearances last season and assisted 14
  • Manchester City and Real Madrid make ‘verbal offers’ of €120m
  • Arsenal willing to break club transfer record to sign 18-year-old

Arsene Wenger previously made his interest in Mbappe very clear but always claimed that Arsenal couldn’t compete with Europe’s financial powerhouses. Therefore, most wrote off any further links with the 18-year-old as nonsense.

However, L’Equipe [via GFFN] claims that the Gunners have made a €100m bid for the high-flying striker in what will be a club transfer record.

While it’s been reported that Arsenal’s transfer budget this summer is in the region of €120m, this figure was allegedly a red herring released by the club.

In fact, Wenger apparently wants to rebuild the club around Mbappe by signing a world class player in every main position: goalkeeper, defence, midfield, and attack.

However, with Manchester City and Real Madrid also supposedly making ‘verbal offers’ of €120m for Mbappe, Arsenal could still get priced out of the race to sign the talented French starlet.
