Arsenal have now officially confirmed that Japan international, Takuma Asano, will spend a second season on loan at Stuttgart next term.

  • Stuttgart promoted from 2.Bundesliga to Bundesliga last season
  • Asano signed for Arsenal from Sanfrecce Hiroshima in 2016
  • Arsenal’s official website announce the loan deal

Asano enjoyed a successful loan spell at Stuttgart last season, making 27 appearances, scoring four goals and assisting the same amount, as well as seeing his loan team get promoted from Germany’s second tier to the Bundesliga.

Therefore, the fact that it’s been confirmed that he’ll be returning will most likely come as good news to the forward, who will get guaranteed playing time once again for another season.

Not that it’ll come as that much of a surprise considering that Stuttgart’s sporting director, Jan Schindelmeiser, already made the news public.

Earlier in the week, it was reported that Asano would be staying with Stuttgart because he failed to obtain his work permit for the second time.

What’s more, is that the terms of his loan deal with the German side apparently stated that if he featured less than 25 times or if Stuttgart remained in 2.Bundesliga, he could leave. Neither of these things happened.
