Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing Stoke goalkeeper, Jack Butland, amid rumours that Valencia want Emiliano Martinez.

  • Wenger is long-term admirer of Butland

Emi Martinez is currently being linked with a move to Valencia and Arsenal are reportedly eyeing Butland as a replacement.

The La Liga side are allegedly willing to make 24-year-old Martinez number one, which the Argentine has little chance of doing in north London.

Arsene Wenger has been a long-term admirer of Butland during his time at Stoke and Arsenal have been linked in the past.

With the Gunners looking likely to sell both Wojciech Szczesny and David Ospina this summer, the club should be looking to bring at least one other shot-stopper on board.

Butland’s 2015/16 season saw him make 35 appearances for the Potters and win player of the year after keeping 12 clean sheets. However, the 24-year-old only featured six times for Stoke last season after undergoing surgery on his ankle.

The England international has four years left on his current deal with Stoke.
