With summer tournaments taking centre-stage on the international scene, plenty of Arsenal players across all age groups have been called up for their respective countries.

As I reported last week, both Granit Xhaka and Alex Iwobi featured in victories on Thursday, whilst Olivier Giroud netted a hat-trick during France’s emphatic five-goal haul over Paraguay.

Who else was in action?

Ainsley Maitland-Niles has, thankfully, recovered from the injury he sustained for England u20s at the World Cup.

However, the versatile youngster was harshly penalised for a handball after coming on in the second-half of their 2-1 win over Costa Rica last week. Watch and judge for yourself, here:

He also featured in the final minutes of their 1-0 win over Mexico on Monday afternoon, as England reached the semi-finals of the World Cup.

Alexis Sánchez is enjoying his holiday, which is why he didn’t play against Burkina Faso on Saturday.

Mohamed Elneny was not involved as Egypt beat Libya 1-0 in their friendly fixture on Sunday.

Upcoming fixtures in June:

David Ospina (Colombia)

Spain vs Colombia – Wednesday, June 7
Cameroon vs Colombia – Tuesday, June 13

Laurent Koscielny and Olivier Giroud (France)

Sweden v France – Friday, 9 June
France v England – Tuesday, 13 June

Rob Holding and Calum Chambers have both been called up to England u21s for this month’s European Championships.

The defensive duo could feature against Sweden (June 16), Slovakia (June 19) and Poland (June 22).

Nacho Monreal (Spain)

Spain vs Colombia – June 7
Macedonia vs Spain – Sunday, June 11

Shkodran Mustafi (Germany) has been selected for this month’s Confederations Cup tournament. They’ve got a friendly against Denmark tonight (Tuesday), before a World Cup qualifier with San Marino on Saturday. Then in the tournament group, they will play against Australia (June 19), Alexis Sanchez’s Chile (June 22) and Cameroon (June 25).

Hector Bellerín has also been called up to this month’s European Championships for Spain. In their group, they’ll face Macedonia (June 17), Portugal (June 20) and Serbia (June 23).

Aaron Ramsey‘s only international fixture this month is a World Cup qualifier against Serbia on Sunday, June 11.

Granit Xhaka also only has one international left in June with Switzerland, against the Faroe Islands this Friday.

Mohamed Elneny‘s’ Egypt are set to face Tunisia in their African Cup of Nations qualifier this Sunday (June 11). Alex Iwobi has an important AFCON qualifier encounter against South Africa to look forward to, this Thursday.

It’s highly unlikely that he’ll feature but Alexis‘ Chile are set to face Russia this Friday. He’s probably still recovering ahead of the Confederations Cup.

Krystian Bielik has been rewarded with his impressive performances both at youth level and with Birmingham, as he’s been called up to Poland’s u21 side for this month’s Euros. They’ll face Slovakia (June 16), Sweden (June 19) and England (June 22) in their group.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is likely to feature against both Scotland (June 10, this Saturday) and France (June 13, next Tuesday) for England’s senior side during their international friendlies.
