Arsenal and Tottenham are both allegedly interested in Real Madrid box-to-box midfielder, Mateo Kovacic.

  • Spurs eye Dele Alli replacement
  • AC Milan, Inter, and Roma all interested
  • Kovacic looking for consistent playing time ahead of World Cup
  • Zidane wants to keep 23-year-old midfielder

According to Diario Gol, the two north London rivals are both keen on 23-year-old Kovacic, who made 27 La Liga appearances for Real last season.

Spurs are eyeing Kovacic as a possible replacement for Dele Alli, who hasn’t ruled out a move away from That Lot this summer.

While Real only signed the midfielder from Inter in 2015 for £27m, Kovacic could be looking for a move this summer in order to find regular first team football ahead of the World Cup next year.

However, while the Croatia international struggled to get game time with the La Liga giants at first, this is steadily increasing, so he might stick it out. After all, it is Real Madrid.

AC Milan, Inter Milan and Roma are also said to be interested and are apparently more ‘viable’ options.

Real manager, Zinedine Zidane, apparently wants to keep Kovacic at the club and considering he has four years left on his current deal, that shouldn’t be too hard.
