Arsenal are reportedly ‘preparing a deal’ for Sunderland’s Joel Asoro and Benjamin Mbunga Kimpioka.

  • Asoro signed for Sunderland from Swedish side Brommapojkarna in 2015
  • Kimpioka signed from Sirius last summer
  • Arsenal want to pay £5m for both teenagers
  • Everton, Southampton, and Liverpool all interested, especially in Asoro

According to the Sunderland Echo, Arsenal are willing to offer £5m for both 18-year-old Asoro and 17-year-old Kimpioka, who have been impressing for the Black Cats’ youth team this season.

Striker, Asoro, is reportedly on several other Premier League clubs’ radars, including Liverpool, Southampton and Everton, having made his first team debut that season.

The Swedish teenager played nine minutes against Middlesbrough, which the Black Cats lost 2-1, making him the youngest Sunderland player to ever feature in the Premiership.

The player himself is pretty open to a move seeing as he wants to develop.

“(My future) is not something you can decide now,” Asoro said recently.

“We will have to see who the new manager is and whether or not they like me.

“If not, I will have to look for something.

“I have to develop and can’t just play U23 football all the time.”

Midfielder, Kimpioka, has also piqued the Gunners’ interest after signing for the Black Cats from Sirius last summer and going on to make 29 appearances in total for their u18s, scoring five goals in that time and assisting once.
