Arsenal are looking to sign Monaco full back Djibril Sidibe according to recent reports which seem to be gaining momentum.

  • Arsenal, Spurs and Manchester City are interested in the French fullback
  • Arsenal tried to sign Sidibe last summer

The Daily Star report that Arsenal want to sign the Frenchman amid competition from Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

There were reports last summer of Arsenal being close to sign Sidibe from Lille, but the fullback ended up joining Monaco.

Now, after winning the Ligue 1 title and reaching the Champions League semi-finals, Sidibe is one of several Monaco players attracting interest from the biggest clubs in Europe.

Sidibe can play as a right and left back and would challenge Bellerin for a first team spot.

However, with Arsenal potentially playing with wing-backs next season and with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain proving to be a useful option there, it seems doubtful they’ll be looking at any more full backs.

This seems the sort of signing that would only happen should Hector Bellerin leave this summer.
