Arsenal could buy Yannick Carrasco as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez according to a recent report.

  • Arsenal could use money from Alexis’ sale on Carrasco if they sell to Bayern Munich
  • Atletico are very unlikely to sell due to their transfer ban

Should Alexis join Bayern Munich this summer, Arsenal could use the funds to buy Carrasco from Atletico Madrid so says the latest ‘twist’ in this story where nothing has actually even happened.

That’s according to AS, who state that Carrasco is exactly the sort of player Arsenal would need to replace the Chilean.

Carrasco can play on the flanks or up front, and is a pacey, unpredictable player. He scored 14 goals for Atletico last season.

However, while he might be a good option for Arsenal, Atletico will not want to sell because of their transfer ban.

The ban means the Spanish club are unable to sign players until January 2018. They won’t want to sell any first team players without being able to sign a replacement first.

This was the case with Antoine Griezmann, whose proposed move to Manchester United fell through due to ban being upheld.
