Santi Cazorla’s recovery from an achilles injury isn’t going well and recent reports suggest he could miss most of next season.

  • Cazorla missed most of the 2016/17 season with an achilles injury
  • Spaniard’s recovery has been complicated by set-backs
  • Unpredictable recovery process means no time has been put on return

Cazorla suffered the injury in October last season and missed the majority of the campaign, having also undergone a series of operations. Despite initial reports that he could return in four months, there are now concerns he could be out for even longer.

The Daily Mail even go as far as to say there are fears Cazorla may never play again if his recovery can’t improve. The Spaniard has been seeing an orthopaedist in Spain in his efforts to get fit but his achilles has not healed as expected.

The unpredictable nature of his rehabilitation has made it impossible to put a date on any possible return. Even if the injury does heal, Cazorla will have to be nursed through next season.

Cazorla is an important and much-loved player and it’d be a huge shame not to see him playing again soon given how talented a midfielder he is.
