The Sports Director of Borussia Dortmund Michael Zorc is earning plaudits for his abilities to find great players and has, naturally, been linked with a move to Arsenal.

With Borussia Dortmund’s recent years of success, most of it has been as a direct consequence of their transfer activity.

51-year-old Zorc took a managing role in 2005, and has incorporated his vision at the very core of the club.

Since he took over the role, Dortmund have become known as a side with attractive players, many of them very young, with bunch of talent.

With many high profile players leaving over the course of last few seasons including Robert Lewandowski, Mario Goetze (who eventually returned), Mats Hummels, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Ilkay Gundogan and Andre Schurrle, Dortmund always managed to bring in quality replacements and maintain competitiveness in both the Bundesliga and Champions League.

For most teams losing those kind of players in a short period of time would be devastating Retain their level is quite a feat.

Michael Zorc is one of a few possible candidates for a new role of director of football at Arsenal with Alexander Rosen from Hoffenheim and Marc Overmars from Ajax also linked.

In light of the speculation, Zorc told Bild“I feel pretty good at Dortmund.”

Zorc has been at Borussia Dortmund since 1978.
