Perhaps you may feel this rating is too high, but hear me out.
The 24-year-old Switzerland international came into England’s top flight with a reputation for poor discipline and concentration but has helped improve Arsenal’s fluidity in midfield.
A fee in the region of £30m was agreed and although he’s still got room to develop, you cannot deny that his presence has added more steel and a dynamic edge to Arsenal’s midfield.
Xhaka’s impressive performances have naturally gone unnoticed and he finished the Premier League season with only 5 yellows in 32 games – far fewer than people would have you believe. Plus, his passing….
