Images have emerged of Tottenham fans throwing objects at Mesut Ozil during the North London Derby but will the FA take action?

  • Spurs fans threw coins at Walcott in 2014
  • Police opened investigation to find three culprits
  • Ozil had objects hurled at him during Sunday’s derby

The final ever North London Derby at White Hart Lane on Sunday was as volatile as they come.

Spurs fans are on a high at the prospect of finally managing to finish above Arsenal for the first time  in 22 years and, apparently, can’t handle their shandies.

Most just hurled abuse, which is generally expected in big derby matches, although one bloke took it too far, storming towards Ozil while he coolly took a corner and having to be tackled by security.

What’s more concerning is that, once again, the Spurs fans thought it was acceptable to throw actual objects at Arsenal’s players.

This happened before when Theo Walcott injured his cruciate ligament at the Emirates in January 2014; as the forward lay on the floor in excruciating pain, the Spurs fans threw coins at him and the Arsenal medics, who suffered minor injuries.

At the time, the FA said it would accept the harshest punishments possible for the fans involved as the police opened an investigation, including large fines and lifetime bans.

Will they act this time?
