Valencia are reportedly about to do Arsenal a favour and take Francis Coquelin on loan next season.

  • Coq under contract with Gunners until 2021
  • Has been struggling for game time since Wenger’s formation change
  • Valencia want 26-year-old on loan

According to Spanish outlet AS, Valencia want to take Coquelin on a season-long loan in order to bolster their squad and, since the 26-year-old has been dropped to the bench for recent Arsenal matches, the Gunners could be open to letting him leave.

The midfielder has made 28 Premier League appearances this season. Mainly due to a lack of other fit options. However, since Arsene Wenger changed up Arsenal’s formation to 3-4-3 (or 3-4-2-1), the boss has been able to easily remove the Frenchman from the starting XI, opting to play passmaster Granit Xhaka instead.

Although most Arsenal fans will be hoping for a more permanent move considering that many have noticed how disjointed their team plays when he’s on the pitch, he only signed a new contract with the club in January, which would explain why Valencia are potentially only angling for a loan deal.
