According to a recent report, Lille’s Sebastien Corchia could be on the move and Arsenal are looking at reigniting their interest in him.

The 26-year-old Frenchman was a previous target in 2013 but Arsenal opted against completing a deal at the time.

Now though, they are reportedly preparing an offer for him ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

Corchia has made over 200 Ligue 1 appearances and though his current deal still has a year left to run, it’s likely that Lille will cash in on him now with interest high – as opposed to the possibility that they lose him on a pre-contract agreement next January.

Having made his senior France debut during a goalless draw against Ivory Coast in November last year, he’ll be hoping for more opportunities on the international stage.

A move to a bigger club will ultimately be seen as beneficial for his development.

He has already revealed that he finds reported interest flattering despite remaining keen to focus for the remainder of the campaign with Lille. They’ve got two league fixtures before the season is over and want to secure a top-half finish, but will require consecutive victories as well as favours from other sides in Ligue 1 for this to be achieved.

I’m always very flattered by the interest of the big clubs. At the moment, however, I am only focused on the remaining games in order to finish as high as possible with LOSC,” he said.

Corchia also admitted that his representatives are in talks over a Premier League move but he’s unsure where the future lies at present.

I will not name names, but yes, I have heard about the interest of English clubs attracted to me. To be frank, I do not know what will happen. The Premier League is of course, of an excellent standard. Just like Spain, Italy, Germany or our Ligue 1,” Corchia continued.

When you come from [France], which is a fairly physical championship, it must not be difficult to succeed in the Premier League. Many French players have succeeded in England.
