It was an encouraging start to the weekend for Arsenal’s loanees in action.

FRANCE

Ismael Bennacer started and created an assist for Faix Selemani as Tours were 3-1 winners over Laval on Friday evening. Having darted through midfield with the ball on a mazy run, he dinked the ball into the box where the defender was able to slam into the bottom corner. The creative midfielder was substituted in the 80th minute with fresh legs introduced to solidify the result.

NETHERLANDS

Kelechi Nwakali was a second-half substitute during MVV Maastricht’s 1-1 draw with RKC Waalwijk on Friday evening. Despite dropping crucial points here, the talented Nigerian could feature again as MVV secured a semi-final promotion place.

Tafari Moore started and completed the full 90 minutes at right-back for Utrecht II as they kept a clean sheet against FC Emmen during their 3-0 away victory.

Unsurprisingly, Aaron Eyoma didn’t feature once again as Volendam lost 3-0 against Fortuna Sittard. Instead, the versatile teenager has been making substitute appearances for the club’s u21 side in recent weeks – reiterating how this loan spell has been a disappointment for his overall development.

ENGLAND

Marc Bola was a second-half substitute as Notts County were defeated late on by Newport in their final league match of the campaign. Making his 13th club appearance for the League Two side, it’s fair to say that his loan experience has been a successful one despite sustaining a hamstring injury in March.

Kaylen Hinds didn’t feature in the matchday squad for Stevenage as they lost 3-0 at home against Accrington Stanley on Saturday.

SPAIN

Julio Pleguezuelo started and completed the full 90 minutes in his fourth consecutive appearance for Mallorca as they battled hard for a 1-0 home win over Elche on Saturday afternoon. The centre-back was booked early in the first-half but showed good discipline to avoid making silly challenges for the remainder of the match.

With his presence in the side, Mallorca are on an unbeaten run of three – coming at the perfect time as they aim to remain in Spain’s second division with the season almost finished.
