Lee Dixon was less than impressed by a number of Arsenal players who refused to go across to acknowledge the away fans at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

  • Players fail to thank fans again
  • Petr Cech amongst handful who did
  • Dixon believes there’s no excuse

After losing deservedly 2-0 to Spurs during the last North London Derby at White Hart Lane on Sunday, a number of players apparently didn’t go over the thank the Arsenal fans. In fact, Petr Cech, Hector Bellerin and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were apparently the only ones who did.

Former Gunner, Dixon, took to Twitter post-match to point out how there’s no excuse for such behaviour.

Although it may seem like a minor issue to pick up on, this isn’t the first time this season that the players have put in a poor performance and then refused to acknowledge the fans.

It’s a tradition and a way of a) showing their appreciate for the fans showing up in the first place and b) a way of apologising for the loss. Considering how terrible this season has been, this should be paramount.

As Dixon said, it may not be the biggest problem surrounding the club right now but “It’s at the very root of our problems.”
