Manchester United are closing in on a move for Leicester’s goalkeeper, Kasper Schmeichel, with Arsenal also interested in services of Danish player – apparently.

According to a Sky Sports report, due to Kasper Schmeichel’s recent change of agent, Manchester United are believed to have an advantage in talks with the player.

His new agent has strong connections with Old Trafford, and according to the reports United are most likely to hold sway over any other interested clubs.

With the possibility of David de Gea leaving this summer, Jose Mourinho has set his sights on the 30-year-old Schmeichel.

Manchester City are also said to be in the race with Claudio Bravo not meeting Pep Guardiola’s expectations and with Caballero not considered to have the quality.

Arsene Wenger is also reported interested the Leicester man with the future of David Ospina and Wojciech Szczesny uncertain and Petr Cech not getting any younger.

Schmeichel’s current deal with Leicester runs until 2021, and his value is considered to be around €8 million.

He has made 37 appearances this season and has kept 13 clean sheets in all competitions.
