AS Monaco manager Leonardo Jardim has been tipped to replace Arsène Wenger as Arsenal boss if the Frenchman leaves once his current contract expires this summer.

According to Téléfoot, Jardim is set to decide his future at the end of the current campaign.

Serie A side, Inter Milan, are also reportedly interested in his services, having disappointed once again this term – but Arsenal have put him at the top of their managerial shortlist, if reports are to be believed.

The 42-year-old has received praise for helping to create an attack-minded team who have been ruthless in-front of goal this season, having already netted 98 league goals to date.

Six points from their remaining three Ligue 1 fixtures will seal their first league title since 2000, whilst they’ve already progressed to the Champions League semi-finals – their best performance in the competition since finishing runners-up in 2004.

Jardim took over in July 2014 and after jobs scattered across Portugal as well as a brief stint with Olympiakos (2012/13), this season’s achievements have increased his reputation across Europe.

His preferred formation is the 4-4-2 or a 4-3-3 and former defender Mikael Silvestre has said that Arsenal should look at Jardim as Wenger’s successor given the brand of football both play.

As quoted by Sky Sports he said, “You should look at someone who practices attacking football, like a Leonardo Jardim at Monaco.

“I would not fancy Diego Simeone to come and play a tight two lines in front of the goalkeeper.

“The Arsenal way of playing is attacking football, so you want to keep that.
