Arsenal are reportedly set to replace Alexis Sanchez with former Chelsea target, Hulk days after the player says he’d like to have played for Arsenal.

Anyone with a brain could have predicted that as soon as Hulk revealed that he was an Arsenal fan, he would be linked with a move there.

The forward, who currently earns an eye-watering £320k-per-week, recently claimed that it would be a dream to play in the Premier League.

“It’s always been a dream, it’s a very competitive championship and the stadiums are full in every game, no matter what the team, I always follow the league and I have always supported Arsenal,” he told Sport TV.

“[I’m a fan of] Wenger’s way of playing, but unfortunately he has not won trophies in recent years.”

Well, if the Spanish media are to be believed, this dream could come true.

According to Don Balon, the Gunners are planning to swoop for the £46m-Brazilian this summer in order to replace Alexis Sanchez, whose contract runs out in June 2018.

Alexis has been heavily linked with a move away from north London, with Bayern Munich said to be his preferred destination, and Hulk would certainly make a prolific replacement.

During his time at Porto, he scored 54 goals in 99 appearances, and at Zenit St. Petersburg he managed to net 56 in 97.

Whether Arsenal would be prepared or even able to pay his massive wages, however, is an issue.
