Sport Bild from Germany claim there have already been talks between Alexis Sanchez’s agent and Bayern Munich’s representatives regarding the transfer of the Chilean.

  • Bayern Munich keen on Alexis with talks taking place
  • German side have never paid more than £34m for a player
  • Alexis arrived at Arsenal for £31.7m and has enhanced his reputation significantly

According to the reports, Bayern Munich are set to remodel their squad over the next two years and the club has started to look actively for new players.

There are mentions of Leon Goretzka, Julian Brandt and Serge Gnabry with Alexis Sanchez being the biggest name among those.

Sanchez is holding off talks regarding his new contract at Arsenal, and as his deal only runs until 2018, Arsenal will be looking to cash in on the player if an agreement can’t be found despite Arsene Wenger’s protestations that they will keep him until the end of his deal.

A major influence in the talks could be Wenger’s own future at the club, with the Frenchman looking to extend his contract for at least another year.

The Gunners are on their way to recording one of their worst seasons since Wenger took over, and with tensions between fans and the club growing, support for the manager has slowly faded away.

Retaining the services of Alexis Sanchez will be crucial for Wenger if he does stay as the Chilean has been one of the few players that has delivered regularly this season.

Sanchez is currently on 19 goals and 10 assists in 33 Premier League appearances and losing him would be a massive blow for Arsenal if they plan to challenge for the title next season.

Bayern Munich would most likely need to break their own club transfer record to sign him, having never paid more than £34m for a player – Javier Martinez from Athletic Bilbao in 2012.
