Arsenal have reportedly registered interest in Everton midfielder, Ross Barkley, but Tottenham are said to still be favourites to sign the England international.

  • Barkley has one year left on current Everton contract
  • Toffees ready to sell for £35m
  • Spurs favourites, Arsenal interested
  • Midfielder wants Champions League football

With Barkley set to enter into the final year of his contract with Everton, Arsenal have allegedly made their interest in the 23-year-old known.

However, their north London rivals remain favourites to sign him.

The midfielder, who the Toffees are remanding £35m for, has been ‘mulling over’ signing an extension with his current club this season, seeing as they can probably offer better terms than Spurs.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Barkley wants Champions League football, which Tottenham can offer him.

Arsenal probably won’t be able to since they’ve only got a slight chance of finishing in the top four this season.

If he doesn’t extend with the Toffees, rather than letting the England international leave for free next season, Everton are prepared to sell him this summer.

Barkley’s made 37 appearances for Everton across all competitions this season, scoring five goals and assisting nine.
