Barcelona attacking-midfielder Arda Turan is bracing himself for a departure from the Camp Nou this summer which could put Arsenal and Chelsea on alert, given the London duo are looking to strengthen their attacking options.

According to El Mundo Deportivo, Turan has told his teammates: “Either I go of my own accord, or they’ll kick me out,” reports Tribal Football.

The Turkish international has struggled for form and playing time with the Catalans, and Barcelona’s failed title defence and Champions League exit this season will result in a complete overhaul at the club. Ernesto Valverde has replaced Luis Enrique as manager and there is expected to be a large turnover in players too.

With Turan making just 18 La Liga appearances, scoring and creating six goals, for Barcelona this season, his future looks elsewhere. The 30-year-old turned down a move to the Chinese Super League in January and still feels he can perform at the top level in Europe. The Premier League would interest him as a result.

Arsenal may have a need for a highly experienced attacking-midfielder given they could be losing Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer, let alone speculation over Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil’s future at the club. Chelsea have fears of losing Eden Hazard to Real Madrid and are eyeing potential replacements as a result.

Turan has struggled with injuries this season, making only two league appearances since February, and his form has highlighted that his best playing days may be behind him. But the former Atletico Madrid has still scored and created 11 goals in 23 league starts since his 2015 move and is sure to still suitors making approaches this summer.
