Alexis Sanchez had the highest rating out of everyone else on the pitch during Stoke v Arsenal despite playing – and scoring – on one leg!

  • Alexis was subbed off shortly after scoring his 76th-minute goal
  • Completed most final third passes
  • Was most tackled player on the pitch

WhoScored.com awarded Alexis with a rating of 9.43 following Arsenal’s impressive 4-1 win over Stoke on Saturday.

This is despite the Chilean appearing to pick up an injury shortly before he scored the Gunners’ third goal of the afternoon in the 76th minute.

The second highest rated player on the pitch was Olivier Giroud, who scored a brace, with 8.79.

Alexis was back to his dazzling best against the Potters on Saturday evening, running the Stoke players ragged, linking up beautifully with Mesut Ozil for Arsenal’s second goal and netting his own late in the second half despite appearing to be in pain.

The 28-year-old had two shots, one of which was on target, and completed 38/45 passes overall, 23/27 in the final third.

Not only did he make the most passes in the attacking third out of anyone on the pitch, he had a pass completion rate of 84% – a full 10% higher than his league average.

On top of this, the forward won five out of five take-ons, three out of four tackles, made an interception, and a clearance, while being the most fouled player (six).

All that and on one leg? Phenomenal.
