Aaron Ramsey has confirmed that Arsene Wenger has not told the players about his future at Arsenal.

  • Ramsey says players are ‘delighted’ to play for Wenger
  • Says team need to ‘repay’ the manager
  • Adds players haven’t really ‘discussed it’

As speculation and pressure continues to grow around Wenger and his contract at Arsenal, the Frenchman insists that an announcement will soon come from the club.

With Ramsey coming back from injury and in contention to start against Palace, he’s tried to reassure fans by stating that the Arsenal players are delighted to play for Wenger.

In an interview for Sky Sports considering Wenger’s future, Ramsey said that “The manager hasn’t said anything about it. He’s our manager and we’re delighted to play for him.

“He’s been brilliant for us so hopefully we can repay him by finishing off this season strongly and hopefully win something for him.

“As players, we haven’t really discussed it, we just want to go out there and try to win the game so we’re focused and trying to work hard throughout the week to put it right at the weekend.

“We’re professional footballers so we have to go out there and perform as best we can and try and get the results that we want.

“There’s a lot of things going on at the moment but we have to turn a blind eye to that and concentrate on what we are here to do.”

With Arsenal struggling to find form and pressure from the likes of City and United for Champions League spots, the next few results could decide the future for Arsene Wenger and Arsenal.

They probably won’t.

But they could…

Following Arsenal’s 3-0 win against West Ham, and with a great chance to win against an injury-ravaged Crystal Palace on Monday, better times are surely on the horizon for the Arsenal manager.
